On being a Rag-Picker!!!
It’s funny how much is expected of a little kid. One says he will be a great heart surgeon, other he will be the next Warren Buffet, yet another says he would be the next Tom Cruise!!!
I was no different, everybody around me wanted to know what would I be when I grow up. So I was coming up with different professions around me, can you believe it at the age of four! The reason being everyone where so eager to know, what I thought about my future, but yeah at the age of four!

The door-bell rings, a postman is on the door asking for my mom.
I call out to my mom, she signs some documents and the post-man leaves.
Next day at the dinner table I announce: “I want to be a postman, I want to serve the nation!”

My parents were flabbergasted. I didn’t know that I was in for a serious disappointment!
Thankfully I did not insist on being a postman in times of google and yahoo!
But I was determined to come up with a better profession. I started observing people around me carefully. I scanned all kinds of people from rickshaw driver to my school teacher. Ultimately I arrived on a profession after applying much thought.
It was Rag-picker!

Don’t be stunned, it’s the best job on Earth, yeah that’s what I told my parents.
See all I have to do is get together all the garbage on the streets and put them in a *balti* and throw it away outside the colony. After doing this, I can rest for the remainder of the day! This time they couldn’t control their laughter!
They never again dared to ask me, what I was interested in becoming!!!
Still I never ran out of ideas ultimately I settled for engineering, which came naturally to me since my dad is an engineer too. They say an average person changes his field( or line) of work at least 3 times in his life. So don’t know what future beckons me.

But as a famous, smart, handsome and still single engineer has said..” Learn the past, watch the present, and create the future.”…;-)

Roses and cupids....
Okay so now you are looking at my blog, your tired wondering what on earth you are doing by viewing this page. You obviously don’t have any work or you are damn bugged. Let me warn you if you are expecting a literary master-piece then you won’t get it here!
Go get some damn MILTON to read.
Hmmm…so you are still reading my blog. Okay I give up, now let me write something worthwhile, before you go into a stupor.

I am sleeping on my bed, my cell buzzes. It’s a friend(girl), all right get your raised eye-brows down she’s just an old pal.

Friend: hieee!!

Me: hey

Friend: why are you sounding so bugged????

Me: was sleeping yaar..till you decided to buzz me..naah kidding!

Friend: valentine day is approaching!!!!!!!!!!!

Me: yea, another year without a valentine!

Friend: aww don’t sound so sad dear, u’ll get a nice one soon..

Me: ahh..no it’s not the valentine thing, it’s the day, it’s kinda jinxed you see!

Friend: hmm, why do you say so?

Me: ok too start with when I was 18, I saw this beautiful girl across the street giving me a
smile…I smiled back, then a common friend introduced her to me. Then came the
valentine day and lo!!...she’s got a bf! Hanging around me to make her guy jealous!!!
Mein hi mila usse!!!

Friend: ohho..relaxe yaar!

Me: anyway, when I was 19 then came 14th feb.

Friend(cutting me off): don’t start you ram-kahaani now!

Me: ohh..okay…but well just for your info…nothing happened when I was 19 (popat)!

well so that was it..
enough has been said about people in love.
Okay so you hate valentine’s day, the dreaded February has come(doesn’t matter if it’s a leap yr.).
No not coz, you are a religious fanatic and treat this day as a western influence on our civilization, even if you are earning money exporting roses outside the country.
Well you hate it coz, it’s just too much of sentiment. No not only valentine’s day, you hate rakshabandhan day, the celebration that follows in diwali…too much of sentiment you see!

Your wife gifts you a rose and gets you a shirt, gives you a peck on your cheek. You stare blankly at her, obviously you don’t have presents to give back(nor the idea why, you are being showered with such generosity and love).
You…”Is it my birthday ?!?”
The saga continues, she asks “what’s wrong honey?” ,
“Do you have another affair”, “ Are we getting divorced???”
You reply “ ehh…ho..humm…ahh honey ?!?”
She runs into her bedroom crying!!!
Well that’s something valentine day can do to you, so all you young guys out there, never mind if you think this day is heavy on your purse, rectify yourself now and now itself!

You read my blog and before anything of that sort happens, you book tickets to Africa!
your answer to your wife's questions..."i was saving up some bucks for this trip dear!"
You happy, your wife happy.
I warned you guys before...don't expect a literary master-piece!.:-P
